Out of 13 Total Matches the Eagles Won 10 by Pin!

1 Conference champion and 3 Runner-Up awards.

Which tranlates to 1 First Team All MVC, and 3 Second Team All MVC awards.  

Huge congratulations to Andrew Ghabriel for winning the 285 pound weight class outright! Andrew has been putting together very strong matches lately, and collected 2 wins by Fall to earn his first MVC Conference Title.

Abe Sanders also started the night off strong, wrestling his way to 2nd place in one of the biggest weight classes of the night. Abe has been improving steadily, but jumped to entirely new levels in his aggressiveness as he gains more confidence in his techniques and abilities. In a full 5-man round-robin weight class, Abe collected 3 wins to avenge his single loss. 

Owen Clary and Pedro Guimaraes both fought back from tough losses to also clinch 2nd place finishes at 190 lbs for Pedro and 215 lbs for Owen. 

Despite the losses, the improvement in their wrestling was on full display, both in the myriad pins, and the show of increased quality and quantity of techniques. Owen earned 4 Pins, including one in 12 seconds and another in 18. 

Overall it was an exciting night, and the Eagles look forward to gearing up for the series of qualifying tournaments for State with one final regular-season competition this Wednesday at 5:00 pm at New Miami for a Tri-meet.
