The Southwest Ohio Track and Cross Country Coaches Association (SWOTCCCA) continues to invest in the future of the sport by awarding a $2,000 scholarship to graduating seniors who exemplify excellence both on and off the course. This award is in recognition and honor of Ron Russo, a local Cincinnati running legend and coach who passed away this year after a courageous battle with ALS.

The scholarship recognizes more than athletic performance, celebrating student-athletes who demonstrate character, leadership, service, and a positive impact on their teams and community as they pursue collegiate opportunities.
CHCA senior Andrew Lott, who recently signed to run at Wittenberg, was named a recipient, reflecting his influence within the program. In a letter of recommendation, Coach Mocahbee highlighted Andrew's leadership and commitment to the team's "Live JOYful" theme:
"At CHCA, our theme this year is to 'Live JOYful,' meaning we prioritize Jesus, others, and then ourselves, while remaining thankful in all circumstances. I believe Andrew embodied this mindset before the season began, but through everything our team has faced since February, I now know it to be true. He has demonstrated strong faith, selfless leadership, and a genuine commitment to putting others before himself."
Andrew's consistent selflessness and steady presence helped shape the team's culture throughout the season. The scholarship was presented by Josh Dooley on behalf of SWOTCCCA, recognizing his commitment to both personal growth and the success of those around him.

Caroline Murnan of Loveland High School was also honored, as she plans to attend Butler University next year.
Congratulations to scholarship recipients Andrew Lott and Caroline Murnan!
