Andy Peterson joined the CHCA Athletics Staff as the Co-Director of Sports performance in 2023 and has served as the Defensive Coordinator for the football program for the last two seasons. Bringing 20 years of coaching experience at both the high school and collegiate levels, Peterson most recently served as the Strength and Conditioning Coordinator and Defensive Backs Coach at Olivet Nazarene University (Illinois).
Peterson played collegiately at Maranatha Baptist Bible College (Wisconsin), earning conference defensive player of the year honors in 2002. After graduating in 2003, he began his coaching career at Greenville College (Illinois) in 2004, serving as the Strength and Conditioning Coach and Defensive Backs Coach. During this time, Peterson also played professionally as a safety and linebacker for the River City Rage in the National Indoor Football League (2004–2005). In 2007, Peterson accepted a graduate assistant strength and conditioning position at Western Michigan University. Two years later, in 2009, he returned to his alma mater, Maranatha Baptist Bible College, to serve as Head Football Coach and Wrestling Coach. In 2015, he transitioned to Watertown High School (Wisconsin), where he worked as the Defensive Backs and Strength and Conditioning Coach. Peterson then joined the staff at Olivet Nazarene University in 2016.
Andy lives in Cincinnati with his wife Laura and their three children Hope, Natalie, and Ben.
