Enquirer: Which Greater Cincinnati Boys Basketball Teams Could Win OHSAA Sectional Championships?

The path to March Madness is visible for Southwest Ohio boys basketball teams. The Ohio High School Athletic Association held its statewide basketball draw on Feb. 11, one week before the start of the postseason.

Sectional tournaments are set to begin on Feb. 19 at neutral sites across the state. There are only a handful of games locally early in the week before action picks up heading into the weekend, building to spots in district championship games and beyond in March.

Here is a preview of every sectional tournament in Southwest Ohio that involves local teams.

South 2

Where: Western Brown

First round: Williamsburg vs. North College Hill; Norwood vs. NCH/Williamsburg; Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy vs. Clermont Northeastern (semis).

What to watch: Williamsburg, 19-2, is the top seed in the South and is looking for its first postseason win since 2011. The Wildcats should be able to break that streak and reach the finals.

Williamsburg has two close wins over No. 5 seed CNE (14-7) this season. CHCA (13-7), the No. 6 seed, is led by Luke Sanders at 25 points per game and won a sectional title in 2022. CHCA beat CNE by 18 last season.
