Moments before his final high school race, CHCA senior Logan Ottke zoned out with his headphones on, skipping through a playlist of all genres and reflecting on his prep career.
"I was thinking that no matter what happens, I've had a great career in high school and I'm ready to take it to the next level," Ottke said.
Before taking his talents to Missouri, Ottke capped his days with the Eagles by defending his state championship in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 54.89.
"To finish my senior year like that, down to the last pullout, it feels great and those are fast guys no matter what division you're in," Ottke said. "I'm glad I came out on top."
Ottke, who was state runner-up in the 100-yard butterfly earlier in the night, trailed going into the last turnaround but made up ground and eventually passed Columbus Wellington's Eric Albers for the crown.
